Marvel’s new superhero is a teenage Muslim girl- Kamala Khan

Marvel announced their new superhero called Ms. Marvel. She is Kamala Khan, a New Jersy girl, 16 years old, she comes from a Pakistani Muslim family. She is also in comics in which she discovers extraordinary body-morphing powers and follows in the footsteps of her Marvel hero, Captain Marvel.
Marvel's previous heroes such as the X-
men, Wolverine, The Avengers, Spider man and so many others were a huge hit and had and still have a lot of influence in teenage comic readers, and surprisingly some adults. Ms. Marvel is expected to have same influence, but the question i ask is why bring religion into cartoon characters?
This is the first time a muslim character has become a Marvel hero. Ms. Marvel launches in Feb, 2014.
