Learn how to easily change the appearance or template of your blog

Most bloggers using Blogspot usually just go with the normal appearance made available by Blogspot. Well, for those who love being different, those who want their blogs to look more attractive, those who want their blogs to open fast when accessed, those who want a new appearance for both their blog appearance on PC and Mobile; this is something you will enjoy reading.

Changing the appearance of your blog is called changing the template of theme, and some times it can't be done by yourself without a tech guy to do it for you. I will show you easy steps to go about this.
Some templates are designed for PC only, while some are designed for both PC and Mobile devices; these are called responsive templates.
There are websites that have these blog custom appearances already prepared and free for download. All you need to do is to go through the different appearances (templates) and make a choice, then view a demo, if you like the looks then you can download it. Follow the steps highlighted below to change the appearance of you blog.

Step 1 
Go to www.responsivebloggertemplates.net 

Step 2
 After previewing the templates and you make your choice, then you have to download it to your system. Don't bother about the size, because most templates with never exceed 400KB.

Step 3
 If the file you downloaded is a zip file, then you have to unzip it first. A file with the extension 'XML' is the file you need to change the appearance of your blog. 

Step 4
 Go to you blog, by the left side, you will see a column named 'Template', click it. You will be taken to the template page.

Step 5
 On the top-right, you will see a column 'Backup/Restore. Click on this and it will bring out a popup screen. Now you have to download your current template for backup sake.Make sure you know where the backup file is stored.

Step 6
 Click on the button that says 'choose file'. Locate the '.XML' file you downloaded and unzipped, then click upload. That's all it takes, apart for some minor changes that has to be done. If you know a little HTML and CSS, then you can edit the HTML code.
